BURNS FOR BLINDS

Crimsafe

Crimsafe is a stainless steel security mesh and frame system. It is used to secure doors, windows and outdoor areas from intruders and insects alike.

It's been copied a lot so you've probably seen similar products on the market… it keeps your house cool in summer, just like they do.

But it is unlike any other security screen on the market, because 2 unique factors behind Crimsafe mean it beats more burglars...

1. We 'screw-clamp' the mesh so it can't be kicked out
Look at the picture and you can see how the Crimsafe mesh is sandwiched between two serrated pieces of aluminium that clamp the mesh tight. One is an aluminium strip with a hook and the other is the frame that the strip hooks into. But then, all three are screwed together with stainless steel tamper-resistant screws.

This combination mechanically fastens the mesh to the frame and creates a barrier that can't be kicked in - The Screw-Clamped Mesh that Beats More Burglars.

This system is internationally patented and unique - no other security mesh has anything going through the mesh itself to the frame, let alone stainless steel tamper-proof screws.

To ensure no air or moisture can penetrate the system, a generous strip of 3M Polymonomer separation tape is laid along the edge of the clamp and the frame (without air or moisture, there can be no corrosion).

Incredibly, some competitors try to use these screws against us. They claim they make our security system look ugly. In fact they're hardly noticeable. And they can be the difference between a screen that gets kicked in and one that doesn't. Click here for a video to see how much punishment a standard Crimsafe window can take.

If you look closely at our competitors, you'll see that each of them has a plastic or aluminium wedge holding the mesh in place. None feature a screw through the mesh or a metal clamp that matches the profile of the mesh to grip it. We have video evidence of products bought straight from competing manufacturers that shows it is possible to tear the mesh out of the frame of some competing products with several hard kicks.

2. Crimsafe's own mesh is 12.5% thicker so it's harder to cut
At .9mm thick, Crimsafe's 304 grade Tensile Tuff mesh is 12.5% thicker than other security meshes on the market. And does it make a difference!

You can kick at Crimsafe Mesh repeatedly, and you will definitely injure yourself before you break through it. And it's incredibly difficult to cut Crimsafe mesh. You can take a machete and hack away at our mesh and you'll have a hard time getting anywhere. You might put a few holes in it but you won't be able to fit through them.

That's because there's a big difference in 'shear' strength between .8mm and .9mm mesh. (Take a look at Crimsafe mesh compared to a competitor using .8mm Marine mesh under a "knife shear" test conducted according to Australian Standard AS 5039 - 2003.)

But the real proof that Crimsafe's Tensile Tuff mesh is something special is this... before Crimsafe came on the market, nobody could even weave .9mm 304 grade stainless steel into the commercial mesh that Crimsafe is made of! We had to commission a wire products manufacturer to make special machinery before it could be done. And we did it because our background in the security industry told us that the mesh had to be thicker than .8mm to adequately defend against kicks and knife attacks.

Incidentally, most competitors using 316 "Marine grade" mesh are actually using a thinner .8mm mesh that has a weaker strength rating than 304 Security mesh.

They correctly tell you that it's designed for use in salt water and that it resists rust longer than 304 grade stainless steel. But unless your home is actually immersed in salt water this is of little value to you.

There is actually only minor long term rust potential on dry land, even in coastal areas, and our 304 grade steel has a better tensile strength performance in security applications when under attack than 316.

Secret coating means long life and good looks
One last fact... The black coating that goes on our raw stainless steel mesh gives it that cool black look, but it is purposefully designed to protect it from the environment.

It took us a long time to develop it in conjunction with Dulux but we stuck at it 'till we got it right. We can't reveal the formula, but we can tell you that it is a High Durability coating that contains additives to ensure long life and permanent good looks. The coating actively works against the buildup of airborne particles and makes cleaning easier.

To prove its worth, we sent test samples of our mesh to undergo the Salt Spray Test. This is a test that measures rust resistance when exposed to accelerated weathering conditions. A salt solution is sprayed at the test samples for 1000 hours, simulating 10 years of environmental exposure. Crimsafe passed easily.

So when we say Crimsafe beats more burglars...
We really mean it. Burglars don't have a long time to spend trying to get into your home. They must get in, quickly, quietly, and get out. It's too damned hard to get through Crimsafe. So burglars will give up and move on.

Crimsafe's doors for your home are available in standard frames, colonial-style to house cast panels, and can even be recessed into solid wood frames for a natural timber look. They can be hinged or sliding. You can see examples of all these door types in our photo gallery.

All of our doors feature the unique Crimsafe screw-clamp system... tamper-resistant screws go through a metal clamp, then through the Tensile Tuff Security mesh and then they grip right into the frame, to hold the mesh from being kicked out.

When hit by an impact like a kick, competing mesh security products rely on a wedge or glue to stop the mesh being drawn out of the frame. But in simple terms, a wedge or glue doesn't do as good a job at resisting impact as screws right through the mesh and the clamp. For this reason, other products simply aren't as strong as Crimsafe.

Crimsafe Doors are the only security system to feature the unique screw-clamp design, which gives them enough strength to resist a determined intruder. Other products are cheaper, but they only look alike - they don't perform the same. Click here to see a video comparison of three cheaper competing products against Crimsafe as each tries to resist a kick attack.

As someone looking to buy a security door, you need to ask yourself if the money you could save by getting a cheaper, look-alike product would actually be money wasted because you didn't buy a door that offers the strength and security of Crimsafe against attack. If you watch our comparison videos, you will see that not all security products are as strong as each other, and that some come apart after only a few impacts.

These are the specific features and benefits of Crimsafe Doors.

3-Point Locking
All our hinged doors come with 3-point locking as standard. Our sliding doors can utilise a single lock or be triple-locked. Triple the locks means added security

3-Point Hinging
3 hinges give the door greater strength and make it much harder to gain entry through the door

Can be constructed out-of-square
If your door space isn't exactly square, don't worry. Our doors can be cut to suit any opening without a loss in strength

Attractive Midrail
Besides being an attractive feature of the door that can be positioned to match existing features of your home, our midrail boosts the door's strength and anti-jemmy properties. It also acts as a visual warning so you don't walk into the door

Tailored Designs
Using Cast Panel inserts or Colonial Designs we can match your new door precisely to your home

Screw-Clamped Security
Only Crimsafe clamps 304 Tensile Tuff Security Mesh between 2 serrated pieces of metal, then drives a screw right through both mesh and frame to ensure a vice-like grip…and beat burglars
